With the development of social media, the number of informal social media-based learning communities has gradually increased. However, compared with formal learning and non-formal learning, the understanding of informal learning is still relatively limited. Learning in the communities is mostly self-directed and flexible. In order to better help learners learn and communicate in informal social media-based communities, we need to know more about their interaction behaviors. The purpose of this study is to conduct a systematic review of previous studies on these social media-based communities about learners’ interaction behaviors. The findings related to the interaction of the community learners will bring insights for not only community managers and facilitators but also educators in managing and designing informal learning interactions.
