Despite the importance of social support in students’ academic success, the influence of social support on Hispanic females is understudied. Using a sample of 147 Hispanic females, we identified the key sources (i.e., family, teachers, and peers) and types of social support (e.g., emotional, informational, and material) in Hispanic females’ educational pipeline and tested the association between social support and their educational attainment over time. The results suggest that family provides the most support followed by peers and teachers. Also, we observed variations in the types of support received from the social agents across their educational pipeline. Lastly, we found the importance of family-rendered emotional support as well as the significance of the developmental phase for various social support.
