In the following study, I propose a new approach called languacultural landscape (LCL), which is based on the method of linguistic landscape and the concept of languaculture. I argue that LCL could be used as a way to address and build upon students’ understanding of cultural and linguistic diversity. In my approach, I also draw on the pedagogy of multiliteracies (PoM) and action-oriented approach to explore the potential of an LCL action-oriented project as a way to bring PoM in its fullest “critical” sense to plurilingual and pluricultural classrooms. LCL action-oriented projects could help develop students’ multimodal competencies, while at the same time providing the means and opportunities for critical thinking and, more importantly, critical actions.
