Many educators struggled with the rapid transition to online and remote learning with uncertainty and reluctance, but urgency involving the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated change. We developed a faculty-to-faculty and student-to-faculty support and training system using current and former graduate students and faculty peers to help instructors transition to the online environment and provide remote instruction to university students. Results from surveys and focus group data indicated: 1) online best practices university students preferred, 2) the positive experiences of having students support faculty members, 3) student satisfaction in thoughtfully planned courses, and 4) the improved faculty experiences of online instruction through reduced anxiety and increased confidence.
