Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between teacher support and positive academic emotion in Chinese secondary students with a focus on the mediating effects of psychological Suzhi and self-efficacy. Altogether 854 secondary students (420 males, Mage=15.3, SD=2.04) were sampled and surveyed. The results indicated that: (1) teacher support, psychological suzhi and self-efficacy had a direct impact on positive academic emotion; (2) both psychological suzhi and general self-efficacy played the single mediating and the serial mediating roles between teacher support and positive academic emotion; and (3) the mediation effect of psychological suzhi was larger than that of self-efficacy and that of the serial mediation. The educational implications of these findings will be addressed.
