The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the effects of learning among different teacher groups in a massive open online course (MOOC).
A total of 292 primary and secondary school teachers were recruited to participate in the study. Various angles of the effects of learning in a MOOC were analyzed, and four major results were generated.
1) The academic performance and the course completion rate of team teachers are higher than those of individual teachers;
2) in the forum, team teachers are more active;
3) team teachers attain a deeper level of knowledge construction than individual teachers;
4) the overall academic performance of teachers is better in the team with a principal participating in the MOOC.
