Using Regulatory Orientation/Fit theory, this research examines the relationship between demographic and programmatic variables and the choice of training modality of the early care and education workforce before and after the advent of changes brought about by COVID-19. The results reveal pre-COVID-19 patterns of behavior consistent with the Regulatory Orientation and Regulatory Fit concepts of promotion and prevention. The preliminary results from the post pandemic data suggest that these differences persist in the current training context of varying on-line modalities. Suggestions for marketing training for the early care and education workforce are provided.
