With the emergence of the Antropocene, education is called upon to transform traditional forms of teaching and learning towards more activist forms of engagement, where knowledge, action, and the transformation of society come closer together. In such environments, new ways of making sense of what it means being and acting in the world can emerge in what we refer to as narratives of change. The current paper aims to contribute new insights into students’ and teachers’ sense making as part of their engagement towards action for sustainability in open schooling learning environments. The results show how students participate in personal challenges and share their experiences as they draw intertextual connections between multiple contexts of experience.
