This study seeks to explore the power-sharing process of participants in a community-based YPAR project after COVID-19 through the lens of sense of place (Williams & Stewart, 1998) and collective identity (Saunder, 2008; Snow, 2001). Collective identity has long been conceptualized as an impetus for collective action in social movements has not been fully discussed in YPAR even though its educational responsibility is in revealing and reflecting the power-sharing process between participants (Caraballo et al., 2017). As COVID-19 has revealed that community-based YPAR is heavily tied to the affective bonds with the “place”, we will examine how the sense of place and collective identity interact with each other and construct democratic partnership in community-based YPAR projects after the pandemic.
