Now more than ever there is a need for teacher education leaders to examine their efforts to build coalitions through collective will in their communities to improve equity and excellence for all children in our schools, especially children who experience the most marginalization in our school systems. This case study examined the effectiveness of three convenings in one year facilitated by a non-profit organization to develop communities of practice among Minority Serving Institution Educator Preparation Programs and their PK12 partners. Specifically, the goal of the support provided by the non-profit was to provide targeted technical assistance using a Community of Learners framework to forge collectives across PK20 contexts focused on equity and continuous improvement of education in our communities.
