Parents and students consider many factors when thinking about what makes a school desirable. This study employs natural language processing techniques to analyze text review data from Great Schools. We identify the most salient topics discussed, and discuss how these topics vary by school type (public, private, charter) and high- vs. low-rated schools. This study provides insight into the consumer side of education and can inform policy conversations about school choice and school quality.
