The purpose of this study is to explore the mental health conditions of graduate students, and examine how resilience mediates the relation between frequency of communication with faculty advisor and student life advisor and mental health of graduate students. This study includes 1,247 graduate students enrolled in a four-year STEM focused university in China. The findings show that frequency of communication with faculty or student life advisors are both positively correlated with students’ self-reported resilience and mental health. Mediation analysis shows that psychological resilience is a full mediator of the relation between communication frequency and mental health among these graduate students.
