Making Enrollment Modular: Student Responses to Stackable Pathways

Mon, April 12, 2:50 to 4:20pm EDT (2:50 to 4:20pm EDT), Division J, Division J - Section 2a Paper and Symposium Sessions

Abstract

This study evaluates the introduction of “stackable” credentials at Ohio community colleges. We focus on students studying healthcare or information technology and working toward short-term credentials. We compare students at baseline, to other students whose college recently introduced credentials or degrees in those fields that “stack” on the credential the student is pursuing. This analysis is a work in progress, but we will report how access to stacking potentially increases rates of degree completion.
