Abstract

Internationally and nationally, assessment modification is becoming crucial. The goal of this review is to see why adaptive testing is important and to see the change of the evaluation methods for its reliability and validity. Primarily, in this review, test modification will be focused on Educational settings specifically related to English language learners. It will illuminate Language difficulty and cultural differences as prominent features that inhibit students understanding of test directions. It will also discuss how test modification is held and what type of procedures are used in the process. These are Differential Item Functioning Analysis, Classical Test Theory, Item Response Theory, and simple Logistic regression for the translation method.
