In this paper we highlight the vast ways ignorance is at work in US society and juxtapose these vectors of now knowing with efforts to enhance consciousness and transformative understanding to broader society. In the midst of wars over ignorance and knowledge, we believe the work on epistemologies of ignorance (EOI) provides a helpful tool for understanding epistemological violence in the US and beyond. The authors explore how ignorance has been put to work in various fields inside and outside education and what it might mean for advancing fields of curriculum theory. Specifically, we bring together US conceptions of ignorance with decolonial thought to expand the parameters of ignorance in curriculum, and educational practice in general.
