This qualitative case study centered around seven Latinx undergraduate students to understand firstly, how racist nativism impacts Latinx college students’ self-perceptions of their national and racial-ethnic identities. Secondly, how their racial-ethnic identity traits influenced their experiences with racist nativism. Findings suggest that Latinx students, regardless of citizenship status, experienced racist nativist discrimination, especially those with non-Anglo identity traits. Additionally, findings suggest that students who were engaged with culturally centered courses and organizations had an increased sense of pride in their racial-ethnic identity.
