Abstract

This study aimed to understand the academic preparation of high school students in American Samoa for postsecondary education and their transition to the local American Samoa Community College (ASCC). Using the multilevel regression models, we examined the extent to which both student-level and teacher-level characteristics predict American Samoa Department of Education (ASDOE) high school graduates’ initial English and math course enrollment at ASCC.
