The goals of this study were to explore (a) whether students can learn the desired content through group activities that use immersive VR and tablets together, and (b) how the amount of VR use affects students' perceptions on simulation and their learning outcomes. The results showed that students learned the desired content while collaborating on the tasks using both VR and tablet devices in an introductory astronomy class. In addition, the amount of VR uses in a collaborative environment where students use multiple devices (that might facilitate multiple perspectives) can affect their evaluation of VR simulation experience. However, there were no significant relations between the amount of time using VR and learning outcomes.
