Meeting the Standards: Examining Principal Internship Logs

• In Event: School Leadership Preparation Programs: What Are We Missing? How to Make Them Better?

Abstract

Our research team reviewed principal internship logs from 20 participants over four years. Participants recorded descriptions, time spent, the role for the task, and the standard met for each activity during their internship. Results indicate that the frequency of each reported standard varied. Additionally, preliminary results showed equity-related terms infrequently mentioned within the activity descriptions. Furthermore, equity-related standards were reported less frequently than other standards in the cumulative logs.
