Abstract

Using longitudinal data from Title II reports, school of education websites, and national census numbers; this study conducts a diversity and equity program evaluation on all 50-flagship university school of education and teacher preparation programs in the United States. Beginning with the Department of Education’s areas of focus to advance equitable diversity and inclusion on college campuses (U.S. Department of Education, 2016 p.2) as a framework, we created 10 sub-groups with a particular focus on how each school of education and teacher preparation program advances diversity and equity. With few program evaluation studies focused specifically on diversity and equity, this study offers a blue print for program leaders to best achieve more comprehensive diversity and equity outcomes.
