This study describes findings from data collected when a group of Latinx pre-service and in-service teachers came together to have platicas about what it means to be a Latinx teacher in the new Latinx diaspora. Researchers used LatCrit to analyze the platicas and follow up interviews with the Latinx teachers. Findings from this study indicate that Latinx teachers see their role as a teacher as much more than just an academic role. Teachers shared feeling frustrated as they saw the injustices in the education of Latinx students and shared their own experiences of feeling as outsiders. This study contributes to the understanding of the struggles that Latinx teachers face as they work in the new Latinx diaspora.
