Abstract

This research reports on the curriculum analysis examination of a social justice themed unit of study developed for pre-service teachers. The unit's purpose is to build future educators' self-awareness and conceptual understanding of social justice areas through the student self-creation of a public service announcement. Through constructing educational units, a teacher/designer needs to evaluate and revise continually, and the process of curriculum analysis systematically situates reflection to evaluate materials through a review and revise the process. Using curriculum analysis aids educators in completing a conceptual review and revision process. It also aids in surfacing concepts; some students find challenging and allows developers to create new onramps to build and meet today's students' multidimensional needs.
