Factors Predicting International Students' Postgraduation Career Plans: Do Financial Sources and Home Country Classification Matter?

Abstract

This research examines whether the sources of financial support can influence the career decisions of international doctoral students. Using data from the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED), a multinomial logistic model and predicted probabilities were employed to examine relationships between primary sources of financial support and choices of faculty versus non-faculty positions.
