Drawing on insights from positioning theory (Davies and Harré, 1990), and discourse as identity practice (Gee, 2003), this study investigates how native English speaking pre-service teachers discursively construct their identities during their interaction with non-native English speaking pre-service teachers online.
The study revealed that the identity formation of these pre-service teachers is mediated by the contextual factors and is represented in distinctive ways.
