In many parts of the world, an interest has been placed in measuring the quality of basic education fairly, although this remains a challenge in the Mexican case. In this presentation, clear examples of the difficulties that children with disabilities (e.g., blindness) face to get a fair assessment in their evaluations will be discussed, as well as the difficulties indigenous children face not only in terms of evaluation, but in terms of learning processes (e.g., their mother tongs do not correspond to the official language of instruction). We will discuss the challenges and opportunities that these scenarios can offer to educational authorities.
