Retaining Current and Incoming Teachers Using Teacher Departure Data

Abstract

The D.C. State Board of Education staff will share findings from the 2020 D.C. Teacher Attrition Survey (published in March 2020). The survey report was conducted to help better understand why recent public school teachers left their classrooms and schools within the District of Columbia. The session will include a discussion on next steps and solutions to address teacher attrition in the District of Columbia, as well as participants' own states and school districts.
