Introduction: The Impact of Teachers of Color
This section of the Handbook focuses on the impact and values of Teachers of Color (TOC) on the successful academic outcomes of Students of Color (SOC). This section presents the rationale of why TOC are relevant and impactful for both the SOC and the field of education as a whole. The research shared here demonstrates the level in which TOC enhance the academic outcomes of SOC, and all students. With this, this section provides insight to the field about educational policies at the local and national level, and the best practices that may assist pre and inservice teachers, teacher education administration programs, and all educational leaders.
