Fostering and Assessing Creativity and Critical Thinking in Science Education: What Can District Leaders and Policy Makers Do?

Abstract

Working with a teacher and school network in 11 countries, including the United States, the OECD has developed an innovative method to transform and improve education through a mix of scaffolding tools: conceptual and assessment rubrics, professional development, and a repository of exemplary lesson plans. Science education was one of its fields of application. The presentation will highlight innovaton and transformation entails for policy makers and district leaders – and what this transformation looks like.
