Session Type: Symposium
In the symposium, presentations from Iceland, Finland, Sweden and Norway, together with a discussant from the U.S., will contribute to a discussion of how parents’ position in education in each of the respecting countries aligns with the idea of a Nordic model of education. The symposium contributes to the ongoing discussions regarding whether it still makes sense to talk about a Nordic model of education, and shows that although the Nordic countries in some instances have reached contrasting points of view and alternative solutions, similarities also exist.
