Session Type: Symposium
This symposium includes papers that utilize diverse research methodologies --- including surveys, interviews, and phenomenology --- to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the ways in which the pedagogical choices of the Women whose work is included here were impacted by their motherscholar identity and experiences, specifically during the COVID-19 pandemic. This symposium is designed to present not only motherscholars’ problems faced during a pandemic, but to also provide attention to and awareness about these issues in order to warrant pursuit of solutions --- like policies protecting family-work balance, promotion of wellness practices --- that might ease their collective and individual burdens, during and (hopefully) after the personal and professional impacts of COVID-19.
