Session Type: Symposium
This symposium includes papers that utilize visual and storytelling research methods to present the experiences unique to Motherscholars and complicated by the diversity of their multi-layered identities (including racialized, ethnic, and gender identities) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Interviews, photovoice, and narrative research designs capture the complex experiences Motherscholars tackled and/or were subjected to --- individually and collectively--- during the COVID-19 quarantine. The symposium format presents a necessary space to prioritize this collective, identity-based research for presentation to an audience that can either connect to and/or needs to be called upon to recognize the diverse identities of Motherscholars (including nonbinary caregivers), who are seeking to thrive, not just survive, in an intersecting world of professional and personal responsibilities.
