This symposium includes papers that utilize diverse research methodologies to collect data --- including surveys, interviews, and phenomenology --- in order to analyze how both the faculty work and home life of Mother-Scholars, experienced overall and specifically during COVID-19, directly and indirectly impacts Mother-Scholars’ scholarship, teaching, service, and mothering. This symposium is designed to present not only Mother-Scholars’ problems during a pandemic, but to also provide enough attention to and awareness about these issues in order to warrant pursuit of solutions --- like policies protecting family-work balance, promotion of wellness practices --- that might ease their collective and individual burdens, during and (hopefully) after the devastating personal and professional impacts of COVID-19 so that they can better attend to the needs of all learners.
