Session Type: Structured Poster Session
There is growing recognition that teacher noticing plays an important role in advancing student learning, access and opportunity. As the construct of noticing has been examined for different aims of teacher learning, how the construct of noticing has been conceptualized varies. To further theorize the construct and elaborate on its appropriation in practice, this session brings together scholars who investigate teacher noticing from different theoretical perspectives to advance theory of teacher noticing and interrogate designs to support teachers’ learning to notice. These papers advance the knowledge base by theorizing teachers’ noticing in different contexts in order to promote more rigorous disciplinary learning and advance more socially just classroom environments.
