We document the development of a learning context for preparing bilingual pre-service teachers at the intersection of teaching mathematics, supporting bilingualism, and working with families. Four qualitative empirical papers document the experiences of bilingual education researchers, pre- and in-service teachers. The papers illuminate the process of developing research and instructional practices supporting the learning experiences of bilingual pre- and in-service teachers of mathematics in elementary school with bilingual families.
