Session Type: Symposium
While Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) has been pervasively used for achieving goals in both content learning and language learning in the era of globalization, there is still much to be examined regarding how to prepare teachers for adopting such an educational approach. This symposium brings together researchers and teachers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China to examine how content teachers, both pre-service and in-service, can be equipped with an awareness of a heteroglossic access to CLIL across disciplines. By juxtaposing these studies conducted in various contexts, we critically examine what it means to adopt a CLIL approach, how to adopt it and for whom it is adopted.
