Session Type: Symposium
Our primary objective in this session is to demonstrate the varied ways that young people persist in their activism and engage in critical political learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will share evidence-based counter-narratives about young people’s capacities for critique and collective agency during a time of turmoil in the United States. This moment of public turmoil calls for attention as we look at how students and teachers adapt, show ingenuity, and find ways to learn in spite of new obstacles. We will generate implications for how educators can support student agency, ingenuity, and voice in a turbulent and uncertain future.
