Session Type: Working Group Roundtable
This roundtable brings together researchers examining mentoring of pre-service and/or early-career teachers from the mentors’ point of view. It explores the ways in which mentor teachers describe their day-to-day activities with mentees inside and outside of the classroom, and the impact that mentoring has on their own classroom practices. The research reflects a range of methodologies, including in-depth interviews, analysis of closed response survey questions, and qualitative analysis of open-ended survey responses. The goals of the roundtable are to identify commonalities across the research, discuss the programmatic and policy implications, and discuss future areas of research. The session includes brief presentations from each participant and ample time for dialogue between session participants and the audience.
