Session Type: Symposium
The Feminist Research Collective invites participants to engage with us in exploring qualitative inquiry as a form of just irresponsibility to the neoliberal demands of the academy. The five papers in this symposium drawing on our WomenWeLove research project—an expansive collective lifestory endeavor to collaborative demonstrate the value of qualitative inquiry for a counter micropolitics of higher education. By drawing on the WomenWeLove research, we (1) articulate our collective inquiry process, (2) demonstrate the power of love in scholarship (as an alternative to the validity criteria of objectivity), and (3) introduce new methodological concepts for qualitative inquiry, such as storyworlding, while also demonstrating new ways of engaging as qualitative research communities within higher education.
