Abstract

In this symposia Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) living complex intersectionalities (e.g., gender, race, ethnicity, tribal affiliation, language, class) in California, Indiana, Arizona, and Auckland, New Zealand; demonstrate taking responsibility for education with context specific research experiences applying decolonization, intersectionality, and anti-racism from within specific educational contexts. Presented as a symposium highlighting participants’ educational perspectives, the session intends to propel scholars and participants toward common unifying understandings of decolonization, intersectionality, and anti-racism. Thus, the symposium may serve as a model for ways in which intentionally interfacing complementary perspectives and contexts can provide deeper understanding for problem resolution across disciplines, sectors, and potentially countries toward a greater good. Models and implications for new futures will be offered.
