Session Type: Symposium
This symposium brings together research from varied national contexts into conversation regarding developing quality teachers across their careers. Specifically this body of work explores pre- and in-service teacher development as well as the standards of quality expected of teachers and educational leaders. We also share lessons learned from a four-nation study examining quality teaching. All together these studies generate a complex, nuanced and expansive portrait of quality teacher development across the stages of a teachers’ career and argue for the value of ongoing and expanded international research relationships that enhance the possibilities and opportunities to overcome the myriad challenges to quality teacher development across the globe.
