Session Type: Symposium
Given the current pandemic and racial injustice among Black, Indigenous and People of Color communities, the objective of the session is to create space to address a much needed conversation around educational accountability, while building opportunities for interdependence and sustainable collaboration across the boundaries of the ivory tower and surrounding communities. This session will focus particularly on the tensions among the boundaries of traditional special education and Disability Studies in Education from the lens of radical love consiliency. The goal is for panelists to share their expertise as it relates to hegemony at the boundaries, but also to engage with the audience to counter hegemonic-paradigms at different levels of society and education for radical change.
