Research in a Time of COVID and Racial Injustice: A Mentoring and Networking Session (Invitation Only)

Abstract

The Division L pre-conference mentoring and networking session will address how researchers have engaged in scholarship during this period of COVID and racial injustice. First, panelists (Drs. Ahn, Dixson, Flores, Kotok, & Woulfin) will briefly describe their approaches--and modifications--to research amid this context while aiming to comprehend this critical time. Dr. Finnigan will facilitate questions from participants. Second, there will be two rounds of 35-minute small group discussion, which will be facilitated by the panelists and Drs. Scott, Frankenberg, Steele, and Cimpian. The small groups will allow deeper discussion of panelists’ ideas and experiences as well as provide time to jointly consider other dilemmas, adjustments, and pivots.
