Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
This symposium will introduce a national program of research with/for/of the digital child, involving Australian universities and national and international research, industry and community partners. The symposium will conceptualize a problem-based research program, and present three papers based on research program agendas: critical media education; videogame engagement; and co-designed children’s technology spaces. To conclude, a transdisciplinary panel discussion will consider the relevance of a broad research program in the context of a digital era.
The session outlines a research program vision aimed at ensuring children grow up healthy, connected and educated in a rapidly changing digital era. Key program elements discussed are transdisciplinary research collaboration to inform policy, innovation and practices, and research translation through a wide range of real-world applications.
