Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, our research-practice partnership (RPP) used improvement science-based processes and tools to assist school improvement teams in meeting their goals. This descriptive case study recounts how improvement teams in collaboration with RPP facilitators navigated through pandemic-related disruptions. Guided by performance adaptation theory, this study was guided by the question: How did RPP support in the use of improvement science based resources and tools affect adaptation during significant disruption in a rural school? Focus group and survey data yield insight into how facilitated use of improvement science-based processes and tools affected performance adaptation in a rural school district.
