Communing at a Distance? Critical Early Childhood Communities Amid a Pandemic

Sat, April 23, 9:45 to 11:15am PDT (9:45 to 11:15am PDT), SIG Virtual Rooms, SIG-Critical Perspectives on Early Childhood Education Virtual Roundtable Session Room

Abstract

What is the role of the critical community in a time of pandemic? Are critical early childhood communities possible under the regulatory gaze of COVID protocols? Is resistance possible amidst the turmoil of pandemic? Through narrative inquiry, this presentation examines the creation of communities of resistance during a time of pandemic. Through the lens of a PreKindergarten classroom, these narratives document the persistence of community, resistance, and revolution woven throughout the dominion of pandemic protocols.
