Integration of the qualitative and quantitative data is a critical characteristic of mixed methods research (MMR). Despite the advances in guidelines and strategies about integration, there is a lack in examples and guidelines for how to achieve fully integrated analyses in complex MMR studies. This is particularly true when researchers use an exploratory approach in the data analysis process as in a mixed methods social network analysis (MMSNA) design. This methodological discussion contributes to the field of MMR by describing four strategies for using constant comparison technique as an integration approach to achieve fully integrated analyses in an MMSNA design. This methodological discussion offers challenges and lessons learned from a practical example to guide researchers interested in using MMSNA design.
