Abstract

In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions (2015) Calls to Action, we engaged in a collaborative self-study to unearth ways in which our research and practice were shaped by Indigenous pedagogies and ways of knowing. As teacher educators, we employed weaving as a research approach to share our alongside stories of teaching, learning, and researching through Indigenist principles of practice. This paper explores ways in which self-study and indigenous research and ways of knowing intertwined. As a result of our collaborative work, we propose five illuminations of how self-study can learn from and be lifted by Indigenous ways of knowing.
