Preservice Teachers' Perceptions of Mobile Technology Integration: Motivation and Intention to Adopt iPads for Future Teaching (Poster 30)

Abstract

This study investigated the relationships of pre-service teachers' motivation, self-efficacy, intention to adopt iPads for future teaching, and other related variables. Changes of proposed variables over time as well as pre-serviced teachers’ perceived advantages and disadvantages of using iPads for future teaching were explored. Participants were pre-service teachers from a university. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches were performed to analyze the data. Results indicated motivation and self-efficacy as significant predictors of pre-service teachers’ future adoption, significant changes of motivation variables over time, as well as the influence of potential factors on future adoption. Pre-service teachers’ perceptions of using iPads for future teaching were reported and discussed.
