This qualitative study examines where and how elementary school teachers mainly teach the notion of home in the curriculum and unpacks how the normalized concept of home unintentionally marginalizes children experiencing homelessness in the curriculum. 25 elementary teachers in a southern state participated in online surveys and individual interviews on their teaching practices. The data reveals that the teachers tend to address home as physical housing in a fixed location, which children experiencing homelessness can be marginalized in the classroom. This study provides insight into how the notion of home for all children should be reconceptualized and taught in the curriculum.
