Narratives about quality in education in India are omnipresent conversationally and in various document formats (e.g. articles, reports, popular media, etc.), yet limited empirical research exists. Quality, often used broadly, includes linkages with access, investment and relevance; yet, it is typically not discussed holistically. By eliciting insights of affiliated college faculty members, this study conceptualizes the Educational Value Model for Higher Education, integrating the abovementioned concepts. This new, more holistic lens offers policymakers, administrators, and faculty a comprehensive model for engaging in discussions about not only quality but the other components comprising educational value. This model can be used to further examine issues in Indian education in a more complex and systematic manner.
